Tracy’s love

OF COOKING

As a transition from teaching for over 20yrs I started a cake decorating business. The people I shared my treats with thought they were very delicious, including a local manufacturer who encouraged me to start my own business.

I approached a few retailers to sell my products and a local retailer called me to have a talk with me why she would not sell my treats. She started our conversation by saying “you don’t know your market, do you? This is Fine Food and you need to contact the likes of Jamie Oliver.” I will never forget those words.

My quest to find “my market” led me to the Guild of Fine Foods, 2017 and then to Jayne Shields at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce in March 2018. On our first meeting Jayne said we are going to build the foundations of this business and immediately I made the decision to start the business of creating treats for gifting (personal and corporate gifting). The foundations for the business were laid and this year we are striving for growth. It has been an amazing year working with Jayne, she has supported me beyond measure and I am very thankful.

We loved what we received. Looks beautiful. Gloriously moist, richly flavoured, and delightfully boozy. It was simple - traditional - and very good. Nearly a pudding, a great alternative to Christmas pudding. Guild of Fine Foods, Great Taste Awards (2017)

A very beautiful looking cake. Indulgent and rich. Generously sized cake with attractive gold flecked marzipan top.The overall texture is moist and rich and we love the waves of almond and fruit. The marzipan is good and it has a fresh almond flavour and 11 balls which we really appreciate. The middle squidgy layer is soft and almondy. The spice comes though well but is not dominant. Flavours blended really well. We also detect some booze in here! Very moreish and delicious.
